ABOUT OUR FOUNDER . . .

PANAXUS, Inc. was founded by STEPHAN ZIMMERMANN, a German-born international businessman and educator who recognized the need for hands-on, highly-skilled consultant services and the opportunity of using the Internet to provide those services at a reasonable, affordable cost.

Stephan founded his first private company at age 31 after several years as an analyst in the San Francisco investment community with major American underwriters in private and municipal finance. Drawing on skills developed with these industry leaders, and adding the experience of a retired senior partner of a Rothchild company, he put into practice the entrepreneurial spirit which prompted him to leave the security of the large corporation for the stimulating challenge of founding and growing his own company. Within a short time, he had assisted dozens of start-ups, walked companies through the IPO process, devised innovative fixed-income portfolio strategies, and added a property management division to enhance cash flow and breadth of scope to his consulting activities.

Educated at the University of California-Berkeley, Cambridge University (England) and the Monterey Institute of International Studies, Stephan quickly expanded his scope of operations beyond California to undertake international assignments. His business travels have taken him to Europe, Asia and Central America on a wide variety of projects. Whether structuring decaffeination equipment financing for coffee plantations, or saving a fledgling, but innovative software company on the cutting edge of its technology; creating a state-of-the-art recording studio or publishing a promising, bright new poet, each assignment brought a new wealth of experience and accumulated information to add to the expanding database for future clients.

After more than a quarter of a century of hands-on consulting work, Stephan has implemented and supervises PANAXUS, Inc., while devoting the majority of his time to teaching graduate seminars in international business and economics, writing and traveling. He currently makes his home in Little Rock, Arkansas.
